Puppy Pre-School
It is important to understand that the early stages of a dog's life form the blueprint for adult behaviour.
Between the ages of 8 - 16 weeks, puppies are developing behavioural patterns towards other dogs (communication, play), as well as the humans in their lives (appropriate behaviour, trust).
This is a critical time in a puppy's life. It is the time when he or she will ideally develop confidence and the right communication skills.
Puppy Pre-school gives you the opportunity to help the new member of your family develop into a well adjusted, friendly and confident dog.
Our Puppy Pre-school is operated by Liarne Henry.
Liarne is an experienced dog trainer with an extensive background in the handling and training techniques of domestic animals. All training is positive - that is, treat or touch rewarded. No choker chains or forceful training methods are used.
For more information about Liarne's classes, please visit www.its-a-dogs-life.com.au.
What our class covers...
We expose new puppies to new experiences in a fun, non-threatening way, during the period when they are most likely to accept and benefit from them. This is known as the socialisation period.
Puppy preschool covers five main topics:
-
Canine communication skills

Socialisation with humans
-
Initial obedience training
-
Understanding dog behaviour
-
Preventing behavioural problems
