DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

Clinical Redesign Project
The Clinical Practice Redesign Project, being facilitated by PA Consultants, to address access block, is well underway. Several meetings and workshops have been held, mapping and analysing the process. A Diagnostics Report and, more recently, a Solution Design Report have been prepared. The next phase will be Implementation Planning.

ART (Aggression Response Team)
The Organisation Wide Policy Committee . (HKH) has endorsed the ART policy recently. This provides the foundation for the imminent implementation of the ART, which is scheduled for 6 Dec 05.

The purpose of the ART is to effectively manage patients exhibiting threatening, abusive or violent behaviour to themselves or others and to ensure effective clinical assessment and care to patients in a supportive and safe workplace environment for staff, patients and visitors on the HKH campus.

Aggression Minimisation and Restraint training is ongoing. Thanks to Anne Bajuk for her great contribution to the training initiative, soon to be joined by Martyn Wilson and Jo Bolewski.

An ART promotion day is scheduled for 11 Nov 05 from 1300 - 1600 hours, All staff are encouraged to attend.
