Programme

Day 1 includes:

Professional Communication: The Foundation of Practice Success

Many of the problems associated with a modern veterinary practice have absolutely nothing to do with medicine and everything to do with good communication. For long term success you have to be the best communicator in the house if you want things to go smoothly.

Using Emotional Intelligence to Understand Personalities in the Workplace

What is emotional intelligence? This is a synopsis of the ground breaking research of Daniel Golman and how it relates to veterinary practice. Recognition of the relationship between mood, communication & good medicine can have dramatic results. Learn how to make the right choices when hiring people using a system that will never fail.

Fierce Conversations and Conflict Resolution

Most workplace cultures can be improved through ‘fierce conversation’. This is a diagnostic process for looking at where conversations need to be held, with whom and about what. These conversations can be the catalyst for a make-it or break-it event in your business.

Day 2 includes:

Strategic Management: Mission, Vision and Values to the Rescue

Every business that has ever been successful has the ability to quantify what they are about and why they do what they do. Learn how to define the values in your practice & how to manage them. Then go one step further and create a strategic plan that will analyse your strengths & weaknesses, opportunities & problems.

Money and Medicine: Get Clients to Accept Your Fees

Examine the barriers to getting clients to accept the fees you charge & why discounting should never be a part of the practice development equation. The focus will be on staff development. This will include working with their perception of money & how that can affect the perceptions of clients and the value they receive at your practice.

Managing Change and Transition

Why is change sometimes like the grieving process? What kind of management team will you need to have in place to take your clinic to the next level? You will be challenged to prepare for change and then to work through the 15 essential steps necessary to manage change proactively.

Coaching to Strengths & Managing the Alpha Employee

Every team member should be involved with a total quality focus for the practice and if they are not, then you should ask; "Why are they on the bus?". There are really only three reasons why things don’t get done in a veterinary hospital and this session will give you these solutions as well as tools to manage the alpha employee.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy - cancellations received before 23rd January 2009 will receive a 75% refund.  Cancellations received after the 23rd January 2009 will NOT be refunded.
