Mark Stallwood resigns as the AVBA CEO
The Board of the AVBA would like to advise Members that the CEO of the organisation has stepped down. Mark Stallwood resigned from his position effective 27th March, 2009, advising that for personal reasons he could no longer continue in the role. Mark wanted us to share the following comment with the AVBA’s members, partners and supporters.
“I have enjoyed my time in the role of CEO of the AVBA, and remain passionate about the role of good business management in the growth of the veterinary industry. I thank all of those who have provided me with support and friendship during my tenure and wish the Board, the staff and all of the members of the association the best of luck in the future. I will watch with interest the future growth of an organisation that I believe fulfils an essential role in the veterinary industry.”
On behalf of the AVBA, the Board and staff thank Mark for his enormous contribution to the organisation and wish him all the very best for the future and in his continuing role as Academic Director of Practice Management for the University of New England Partnership.

Pets being surrendered because of financial crisis: RSPCA. April 16, 2009 The animal welfare group the RSPCA says there has been a sharp rise in the number of animals being surrendered in Queensland because of financial reasons.
Work starts on new vet school. March 27, 2009 Adelaide University says South Australia's first veterinary school, to be built at Roseworthy, should help reduce a shortage of veterinarians in the state.
