We have two private function rooms available that will suit any party big or small, formal or casual.

Our rooms have a capacity of 40 to 300 people, perfect for most events such as meetings and courses, birthday parties, Christmas parties, engagements, fundraising events, fashion parades, trivia night, poker nights etc.

We can organise something for every occasion and budget, from a formal function with fantastic meals and elegant decorations, to a birthday bash with the best DJ’s or bands to keep you dancing into the night.

FUNCTION ROOMS

The Pool Room - The Pool Room is our largest area with a capacity of up to 300 guests. This room is perfect for your party of 100 people or more.  The room is equipped with a fully stocked bar, dance floor and stage area, DVD player and big screen, juke box and sound system, party/disco lighting and pool tables. Although this room is non-smoking, we do have an adjoining outdoor area for you guests.

The Sports Bar - The Sports Bar is a casual bar by day, transforming into a party room by night. This room is perfect for any function from 40 to 80 people. The Sports Bar has a fully stocked bar, big screen television with laptop/DVD connection capabilities, and a 5 disc CD player. Feel free to hook up your MP3 player to our house sound system or hire a DJ or Juke Box for the night. This room is also non-smoking but also has an adjoining outdoor area.

BARS

We have a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits and low to non-alcoholic beverages available in all our bars. A Pool Room function includes two staff on the bar and two security guards for the entire five hour hire. A Sports bar function includes one staff member and a security guard. There is no minimum to spend on the bar during your function. The following options are available:

Bar Tab - This option allows you to set a cash limit on the bar, when the limit is reached you can increase the amount, or your guests can simply buy their own drinks. Often customers limit the bar tab to tap beers, house wine and champagne and soft drinks. Spirits and bottled drinks can also be added if you wish or simply purchased by your guests. Most commonly we take the bar tab in advance either by cash or EFTPOS, however an option is to have a limitless bar tab and pay at the conclusion of the function. We require a current Australian driver’s license and valid credit card to be left with management until payment is made.

Open Bar - The bar is open for your guests to purchase their own drinks as required.

Drink Prices - Following is basic drink prices to assist with your budget.

Schooner local tap beer $4.00  -  Schooner light beer $3.50  -  Rothbury Estate Chardonnay glass $4.70  -  Rothbury Estate Shiraz Cabernet glass $4.70  -  Rothbury Estate Sparkling Cuvee glass $4.70  -  Schooner Soft drink $3.00  -  Schooner juice $4.00  -  Basic Spirits start at $5.20  -  (subject to change)

A Cocktail list will also be available. The list can be altered to fit in with your theme with advanced notice.

ENTERTAINMENT

We are happy to assist you in arranging entertainment for your function.

MUSIC - There are many options for music in both function rooms.

Big Screen and Televisions - The big screen and televisions are available for use in both rooms, free of charge. Both rooms a DVD player linked to the big screen so you can play your home movies, photo presentations, etc. They also have laptop connections via S-Video. We suggest that you come in prior to the event and test the connections, DVD etc. to make sure your night runs smoothly

Pool Tables - Pool tables are only available in the Pool Room. They can be hired for the night, left as they are for guests to play or covered for the night.

Other Entertainment - The following are a few ideas that we have seen in the past that could make your night a little more special and we would be happy to arrange.

CATERING

Food must be made available to your guests. Due to food safety requirements any food for your event must come through Mikes Grill or the Crest Hotel (birthday cakes or similar are accepted). Mike and his friendly staff can put together a menu to suit all your needs. The following are the standard menus for platters, however feel free to discuss any other options with staff.

$8 per person

· Petite Pies with tomato ketchup

· Sausage rolls with barbecue sauce

· Fish Cocktail with tartare sauce

· Calamari strips with lemon

· Vegetarian springrolls with sweet chilli sauce

· Cocktail samousas

· Mini supreme pizzas

· Cheese and spinach triangles

· Chicken goujons with aioli

Deluxe

$12 per person

· Lamb skewers with tzatziki

· Chicken skewers with chipotle aioli

· Salt and pepper squid with chilli jam

· Thai fish cakes

· Beer battered fish pieces

· Blackbean and nori springrolls

· Waterchestnut and shitake mushroom puffs

· Prawn cutlets with remoulade

· Gourmet mini pies:

-Chicken and leek

-Lamb and Rosemary

-Beef and black pepper

Mixed combination $10 per person

SNACKS - Snacks are also available. Please arrange your requirements with management prior to your function. Dips can also be arranged through Mike’s Grill. Smaller portions of the following are also available over the bar throughout your function. Price guide subject to change:

DECORATIONS & ROOM SET-UP

The rooms are both closed to the public at least two hours before your function starting giving you plenty of time to decorate.

If you would prefer we can organise the decorations for you on a fee basis. Anything from simple balloons, banners and party hat to elegant dining tables with centrepieces and menus. You are also welcome to decorate yourself. If you require further time it can also be arranged.

If pool isn’t your thing they can be covered and used for presents or food. We will do everything we can to arrange the room as you wish.

Responsible Service of Alcohol

The Crest Hotel practices responsible service of alcohol (RSA).

We will not serve alcohol to

Double shots (60ml), straight shots (30ml) and full bottles of wine will be served at the discretion of management to insure the prevention of intoxication.

Management and security reserve the right to define "intoxication" and "adverse affect" in order to maintain a safe and orderly venue for the enjoyment of all patrons.

To comply with RSA we do not allow Yard glasses or similar, to be filled to drink.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Dress Regulations - Neat, casual dress is acceptable. We understand that your party may have a theme where costumes are worn, in this case we ask that your guests please wear shoes at all times.

Security - For all functions a security guard is allocated to the room. Throughout the night another security guard will roam the room depending on the number of guests at the event. The cost of security is included in the room hire fee.

Minors - Children under the age of 18 years are welcome to attend your function. They must be in the immediate company of their parents at all times and will not be served at the bar. They must also stay in the designated function area.

Due to the high risk of underage guests we do not allow 18th Birthday parties.
