Appetite- KelatoVIT performance’s palatable formula and B-group vitamins help maintain a vigorous appetite.

Health - vitamins and minerals play a vital role in maintaining the immune system and general health of your horses. Good health will be seen as shinier coats, clearer eyes and strong bones and hooves.

Most importantly, KelatoVIT performance keeps your horse performing!

Why should you supplement your horses diet with KelatoVIT performance?

Chelated (Key-lated) minerals are minerals bound to a small piece of protein. For minerals to be absorbed into a horse’s body they need to be attached to a small piece of protein or a sugar.

Because proteins and sugars are easily absorbed from the small intestine, minerals attach themselves to these molecules so that when the horse absorbs the protein or sugar, the minerals are basically being smuggled across the intestinal lining into the horse’s body. While minerals present in pastures and some minerals in grains are naturally chelated, a majority of minerals supplied in commercial mineral supplements are in an inorganic or non-chelated form.

Inorganic minerals rely on chance meetings within the gut with a protein or sugar that they can attach to for absorption. While inorganic minerals are still a reasonably effective way to provide mineral supplementation for horses, providing a percentage of minerals as chelated minerals maximises absorption and ensures that your horse is getting the minerals it needs.

Essentially chelated minerals are used to maximize mineral absorption, making sure that the goodness within KelatoVIT performance stays in your horse, and doesn’t just end up out on the ground.

KelatoVIT performance also contains Chromium. Adding Chromium to performance horses diets has an ‘anabolic like’ effect when combined with exercise, helping to build up lean muscle rather than fat. It is ideal for horses being prepared for racing, show or athletic pursuit. Chromium has also been shown to slow the build up of lactic acid during exercise which may delay the onset of fatigue and muscle soreness. Finally, chromium may have a role in helping muscles recover from the high demands placed on them during performance.

KelatoVIT performance contains the full spectrum of Vitamins including the fat soluble Vitamins A, E, D and K and the water soluble vitamins C, B1, B2, Niacin, B5, B6, Folate, Biotin and B12.

Recent research shows Antioxidant deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies in a performance horse’s diet. Antioxidants deactivate toxic free radicals and have an important role in preventing a range of diseases including tying up, enhancing performance and helping to maintain general health and well being. ‘Free radicals’ are naturally produced in the horse’s body when cells burn nutrients to produce energy. As the energy demands of a horse are raised (e.g. through exercise, injury, disease, transport and stress) the production of free radicals is increased. If free radicals are not quickly deactivated and destroyed by antioxidants, cell membrane damage can result and interference with cell function as well as the production of energy may occur. Vitamin E, vitamin C and selenium (in the form of selenium yeast) are three of the most potent anti-oxidants available and are all incorporated into KelatoVIT performance at levels high enough to meet 100% of requirements, meaning additional supplementation is not needed.
