We’re Grieving’………. ’Cos She’s Leavin’

It is with heavy hearts that we are about to bid “Farewell” to our bright young vet Sandra Barnard.
Sandra joined us two and a half years ago, fresh out of Sydney University with some very impressive academic credentials. During the time she’s been with the practice, she has continued to impress us all many times over, not only with her professional skills and dedication, but also her very genuine compassion for the patients under her care.
After consolidating her basic medical and surgical skills, she rapidly developed an interest in oncology; she has established a strong chemotherapy facility within the practice. It’s her interest in cancer medicine that will be taking Sandra away from us: she has accepted a three year residency programme in oncology at Cornell University. For those of you unfamiliar with it, Cornell is located at Ithaca, in upstate New York, certainly one of the prettiest parts of the United States. It is arguably the most prestigious veterinary school in the world, and her acceptance there is a testament to what she has accomplished so far in her career.
Many of you have gotten to know Sandra in the two and a half years she’s been with us and we know you’re going to miss her as much as we will. Her cheery personality has brightened the days of staff and clients alike, and we know that you will miss her as much as we will. The good news is that she’s promised us faithfully that after she’s finished her residency programme she’ll come back to Gladesville, full of new skills and enthusiasms and a specialisation in oncology which will further improve the service we can offer the animals in our care.
Sandra, we wish you and Tony the very best for the next few years.
Make sure you remember the way home! |
