FUNK & HIP HOP

Interested in learning to dance like your favourite video clips?  Diamand’s Hip Hop Funk dance classes are structured in a way that makes it fun and easy to learn dancing-even if you are an absolute beginner! 

Funk is best described as the style of dance that you see in today's music video clips and dance performance shows.  It is a fusion of Jazz, Funk and Hip-Hop Styles, danced mainly to R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop Music.

Hip Hop movies such as ‘Honey’, ‘You got Served’ and ‘Rize’ are showcasing the styles to a new audience.

BRAZILIAN SAMBA DANCE

Get ready to shake, move and get a good workout all at the same time.  Come on don’t be shy!!

You do not need to have any previous experience in this form of dance…Just an appreciation of the music.

This class focuses solely on the Brazilian Music and Dance styles; Samba Batucada, Samba Reggae, Axe & Afro. 

Learn to dance Samba as the Samba step is focused upon and broken down.  Samba is Brazil’s national dance.  Think Rio Carnival, feathured costumes and fast footwork!! This is Individual dance class and No Partners required.

SHOW GIRL DANCE CLASSES

Noticing a trend in today’s female artists video clips?  Female singers and groups are converting back to the feminine, sexy style of dancing that was very popular in movies of our yester-year!  The Pussycat Dolls, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Fergie, are just some of the examples.  The Pussycat Dolls probably are the ones responsible for this new craze!! 

The music that this style of dance is danced to in today’s video clips is still classified under Pop and R&B.  The class will obviously take other styles of dance into account primarily Jazz but also Funk, R&B, Hip Hop even Latin movements combined with sexy show girl moves!! 

This class is great for all females young and old - Release the sex kitten in you and move your body the way god intended us to move our body.

LATIN FUNK

A Funk Class with a twist of Latin.  Combine the cool attitude of street dance (Funk, Hip-Hop and Jazz) with sexy moves and influences of Latin American Dance Styles (e.g Salsa and Merengue) to create a unique blend.  This style can also be seen in today's music video clips.  Danced to Hip-Hop, Pop and Latin Pop Music. 

Think J-Lo, Shakira and Beyonce.

BRAZILIAN LATIN DANCE WORKOUT

This class incorporates the dance styles and music of Salsa, Merengue, Samba, Samba Reggae, Street Latin and Afro.  Get ready to move and shake in ways you never thought possible!  This is Individual dance class and No Partners required.

Bring a towel as you will definetly sweat!

PILATES

Pilates is becoming more and more popular as we all become aware of the importance of strengthening our inner core unit.  It has been around for over 50 years and was based on dancers, as the exercises involved helped them gain stability and control through extensive range of movement. It also prevents injuries, re-aligns the body, lengthens muscles and increases flexibility. This class is not only great for dancers but suitable for everyone, regardless of fitness level.

SHINES

Shines are fancy footwork based on the basic Salsa Mambo step and timing and danced Salsa Music.  

Shines can be incorporated into your regular Salsa moves when dancing as a couple and would suit the regular Salsero. However no Salsa experience is needed for this class.

This is Individual dance class and No Partners required.

Workshops in any of the above dance styles plus Salsa, Capoeira and Bellydance are available upon request.
