2. Policy Documents (PL Series)

 

IAF Policy documents set out the policies, including governance requirements, that IAF members are expected to follow as well as statements of the IAF viewpoint on current issues.  These include documents such as the IAF Bylaws, the Memorandum of Understanding, IAF Endorsed Normative Documents and similar foundation policies.

IAF PL 1:2003 Code of Conduct for Accreditation Body members of the IAF
(Issue 1, issued on 1 November 2003)

Outlines the broad principles of legal and ethical business conduct embraced by IAF.  This Code signifies voluntary assumption by IAF accreditation body members of a standard of conduct that may often be above and beyond the requirements of the law.  Acceptance of this Code of Conduct is mandatory for IAF Accreditation Body members as a condition of membership of IAF.

IAF PL 3:2004 Policy and Procedure for Industry Specific Programs
(Issue 1, issued on 7 August 2004: application from 7 August 2004)
Provides the policy and procedures by which IAF and major industry sectors can work together to operate conformity assessment programs specifically developed by and for their own industries.  IAF welcomes discussions with recognized industry groups wishing to operate third party Industry Specific Programs regarding means by which IAF accreditation body members may contribute their expertise and the value of the IAF world-wide recognition program to meet those industries’ needs.

 

IAF PL 4:2004 Rules for IAF Membership Fees
(Issue 3, issued on 7 August 2004: application from 7 August 2004)

Sets out the rules for calculating and collecting membership fees for IAF members.

 

IAF PL 5:2006 Structure of the International Accreditation Forum Inc.
(Issued on 31 May 2006; application from 31 May 2006)

Sets out the structure of the IAF, the responsibilities and duties of the IAF Board, Executive and Officers, as well as the Terms of Reference of the IAF Committees and Subcommittees.

 

IAF Memorandum of Understanding

The IAF Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is the basic membership document of IAF. All members of IAF are required to sign the MoU and to abide by the commitments they make in it.
