iM3 Rock & Roll (R&R)
Blue Oscillating Disposable Prophy Head

The big advantage of the R&R is that it does not produce heat on the tooth (5 to 10 seconds in the one spot with a normal cup can destroy the nerve of the tooth because of the heat produced)

Because of the innovative “back and forth” motion of the R&R, the prophy angle must be used with a “continuous contact” method. Leave it on the tooth for as long as necessary. Do not dab on and off the tooth as you would with the standard cups that rotate through 360 degrees.

You should expect to get a minimum of 1 complete prophy out of each R&R. iM3 recommends the R&R should be changed between patients to prevent cross contamination. Each R&R is packaged individually.

The R&Rs have eliminated 3 major problems

Being disposable, they reduce cross contamination.

They eliminate the problems we encountered with the older Low Speed Heads, worn gears, breakage and prophy paste buildup etc (due to lack of cleaning)

They are faster and do a far better job.  Because they are ¼ turn back and forth they don’t wind up the muzzle hair, splatter the paste or produce the heat that a rotary cup does.

iM3 R&R's are used throughout the World, the Veterinarians and Technicians are very happy with them.  Available in packets of 25, 100 and 250s, individually packaged, they represent excellent value to the veterinarian.

You need to use a 4:1 straight nose cone with them on the Low Speed Motor. If you do not have a Low Speed Motor or need a new one, then you can use the new Low Speed Motor/4:1 straight nosecone combination. R&R can also be used om electric Micromotors.

The R&R will halve polishing time as you now wipe them over the tooth.

Even though they are designed as a disposable prophy head, they are cost effective and easier to use as compared to the 360 degree prophy heads.

Fitting R&R Prophy Heads to older style straight nose cones.

The slot in the R&R should slide over the raised dot (nipple) on the Straight Nose Cone chuck housing. Open the chuck by twisting the chuck housing to the right (anticlockwise) and pulling down, until it locks into position. Insert the shaft of the R&R with slot over the dot. Lock chuck housing by twisting to the left (clockwise). NEVER RUN THE HANDPIECE WITH THE CHUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. The prophy head or straight nose cone will not operate with the chuck in the open position.
