PRE-GRANT AND POST-GRANT AMENDMENTS UNDER EUROPEAN, UK AND US PATENT LAWS

This seminar is jointly presented by IPRIA and IPTA and generously sponsored by Davies Collison Cave

Free Public Seminar presented by Dr Noel Byrne, Adviser, IP Law, UK

Date: Thursday 4 September 2008
Time: 6.00pm (registration from 5.30pm)
Venue: Level 15, Davies Collison Cave, 1 Nicholson Street, Melbourne

The rights of inventors to amend their patent applications and granted patents is of great practical importance.  Patent laws allow inventors to amend their applications provided an amendment may not go beyond what is disclosed expressly or implicitly in the application as filed.  This seminar will explore the similarities and differences between rules on pre-grant and post-grant amendments in the jurisdictions of Europe, the UK and the US.
