Network only PR agency contributor to inaugural technology marketing publication

Technology communications’ company and facilitator, MediaConnect, chose Network Communications to be the voice of PR in the inaugural (December 2008) issue of its new Tech Marketing publication, a new e-magazine distributed to 500 marketing managers of technology companies in Australia.

In the introductory editorial to Tech Marketing, Phil Sim, CEO, MediaConnect Australia, states “Every one is being asked to achieve more with less and the pressure to achieve quantifiable results has never been greater. We hope we can help by sharing with you the insights and experiences of your peers and throwing up ideas and concepts that might help improve your marketing outcomes.”

Asked to write on the issues emerging for 2009 that IT marketing managers should be aware of from a public relations perspective, Network’s Head, Technology, Geoff Hoddinott, highlighted some of the ways PR undertaken by local and multinational companies would be impacted by the current economic crisis.

He also predicted that digital channels for PR would be more widely sought after and adopted, due in part to their more transparent measurement compared with traditional media programs.

“The winners will be those marketing professionals who clearly identify the trends and challenges, and present measurable communication and public relations strategies to senior management to address them,” he writes.

According to Hoddinott, this is something that many of Network’s PR clients have embraced during 2008.  “We have had a big digital year for clients, creating content for eDM campaigns, developing web collateral resources and even building one client a complete new web site, especially designed to rank highly in natural language search results via major search engines such as Google.”
