Network PR participates in Australian and New Zealand software awards
Network PR provided the only representative from the Australian public relations industry to the panel judging The 2007 Consensus Australia and New Zealand Software Awards.
The inclusion of Network PR demonstrated the agency’s reputation for understanding the contribution business technology - both B2B and B2C - makes to the marketing and business strategies of both the SME and enterprise sectors.
It was the third successive year Network PR’s account director Geoff Hoddinott had been a judge, joining others who came from fields as diverse as software developers and IT administrators.
As a PR agency Network PR prides itself on being able to translate the ‘technical’ into the ‘compelling’ for leading brands across the business solution spectrum.
"Ironically, that fits with the philosophy of the Consensus Awards. There’s always a lot of great new software with impressive technical features. However, the winners are those which the judges feel also have a marketing and business plan that has the best chance of succeeding in the marketplace”, said Hoddinott.
“With a background in marketing, advertising and public relations, and having worked on software, hardware and industrial accounts for many years, I can not only quickly grasp new technology and its application, but move beyond that to probe the company's ability to actually get the product or service to market," said Hoddinott.
“Too often technology vendors see the PR role as simply to pitch software version upgrades or technical features to media. But the key to PR success is in knowing the business benefits - the competitive advantage of a product, where it fits in the client’s portfolio and how it might contribute to the growth of business.
“Network PR’s inclusion as a judge in the Consensus Awards is testimony to how our approach and philosophy fits today’s marketing and business environment,” he said.
