Acronym Builder

Published July 2004

This is a little old, and reportedly came from the International Communication Association as a ‘Communication Buzzword Generator’, but since it creates three word phrases, it is more suited today to building TLAs.

Whilst it’s a bit of fun or whimsy, it does add weight to the feeling that acronyms are not really taken as seriously as their creators may think.

The idea is to take any word from column one, add to it any word from column two, and cap those off with any word from Column three. Try it, it produces meaningless but impressive results just as well as many other serious TLAs we all come across.
