Nora Moore Kemarre was born circa 1945 in Central Australia and lives at Boundary Bore on the Western border of the Utopia Homelands. She is an Anmatyerre speaker who paints predominantly ‘Bush Medicine Dreaming’ which represents her connection to a variety of native medicinal plants which can be ground to a paste and applied to the skin to act as an antiseptic and healing balm. Other forms of utilising ‘bush medicine’ are to ingest parts of the plats orally or to burn the leaves for ceremonial ‘smoking’ of a person who is unwell. Her sisters, Kathleen Kemarre and Patsy Long also paint Bush medicine Dreaming in a soft and deliberate dotted style that generally depicts their country from an aerial perspective.
