Applications: Magnets for Pilot Ladders, Floating Oil-spill Booms and Maintenance Vessels

Serpent and Dove's Hull and Boom Magnets secure floating spill booms to ships' hulls and are also deployed with Pilot Ladders to control swing and provide added safety for Pilots when boarding, as illustrated below. Other uses include providing a tie-off for maintenance vessels. Patent No. 2007100422 applicable.

                                                                                ^ Hull Magnets are supplied individually or in sets of four in a wooden storage crate. Boom or Hull Magnets each grip with more than 300 kg of force. They use new-generation neodymium magnet technology within resin-filled, chrome-plated steel housings designed to concentrate maximum holding force at the face. Load-bearing plate and handle are powder-coated for marine environments and fitted with a stainless steel eye for tie-off. Removal is effected by moving the handle to perpendicular position.  Major shipping lines have equipped all their vessels with this specialised safety device. Patent 2007100422
