Wet Drum Magnetic Separator for use in Coal & Iron Ore applications

Heavy media processes employ media such as finely ground magnetite or ferrosilicon to adjust the density of water and separate products that float from product that sinks. Media losses that would occur due to media particles clinging to either the float or sink products are minimised by use of Wet Drum Magnetic Separators. Both float and sink products are passed over drain and rinse screens to rinse off media particles. The resulting slurry is then passed over Wet Drum Magnetic Separators to recover most (> 99.9% in many cases) of the magnetite or ferrosilicon particles for re-introduction to the heavy media bath. Longi Separators use latest neodymium magnet materials and up to 7 poles on a 127 degree arc to maximise recovery. Magnet element design is semi-customised to suit exact requirements of magnetic field gradient and reach for specific applications.

Specify: slurry volume; slurry density and magnetic content; magnetic particle size; amount of non-magnetic material present; t/hr of magnetics to be processed.
