Monsters and Mayhem Gallery 7
 |
Monsters and Mayhem produced a show for the Historic Houses Trust of NSW and the Festival of Sydney to help children enjoy and learn about a modern sculpture installation in the grounds of Government House (Sydney) |

Sir Nigel (above) was a lonely and rather angry old-fashioned sculpture. The puppeteer/performer walked on short stilts hidden within the 'stone plinth' and puppeteered his own trusty steed 'Boofy' the horse. He wears a half-mask and bicorn hat complete with evidence of the disrespect of pigeons.
Bubba is a sandstone texture sculpture who speaks Kazoo. Fortunately the hero of the piece 'Captain Dada' is fluent.
A surprise favourite of the piece was Vera- a statue who had fallen over with terror. She was helped and cheered up by the children, many of whom thought she was fantastic. She was puppeteered by Monsters and Mayhem's own Jillian Webster who also performed the role of Curator of the Planet Sculpturon (right) who encouraged everyone to enjoy the modern sculpture she held so dear!
